Dr. Temitope Popoola is a distinguished executive with more than 28 years of multifaceted experience in the financial services sector, encompassing banking, accounting, auditing, insurance, and human capital management. Renowned for her strategic vision and operational excellence, Dr. Popoola has consistently delivered impactful leadership across a broad spectrum of business functions, including business development, risk management, corporate governance, finance, operations, talent management, and organizational strategy.

Prior to her current role as Executive Director, Dr. Popoola served as Head of Group Internal Audit, Corporate Functions at Stanbic IBTC Bank. In this capacity, she was instrumental in strengthening the organization’s risk management framework, enhancing internal controls, and elevating corporate governance structures. Her leadership extended to her tenure as Head of Human Resources, where she successfully shaped and executed the bank’s people’s strategy-driving initiatives in talent acquisition, retention, compensation, benefits, and performance management.

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Popoola has held several senior leadership positions within the banking industry, where she has overseen critical operational areas such as finance, customer service, and branch network management, consistently delivering on key business objectives.

Dr. Popoola holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics & Statistics from the University of Lagos and a master’s degree in international human resources management from Cranfield University, United Kingdom. She recently earned her Ph.D. in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship from Pan Atlantic University. Her commitment to professional excellence is further demonstrated by her status as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel Development, UK (FCIPD), and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (FCIPM).
